Although I currently call Portland my home, I migrated from the east coast. As much as I miss my family and friends I really am a west coast kind of girl. I moved here in 2006 to go to school where I met my husband Alex. It truly was the best investment I have ever made 🙂 I love being able to walk to the library and the grocery store, try a new breakfast place or enjoy the smell of roses in the summer. It is great to live where recycling and composting is the norm, Goodwill is a magical place and people don’t care what you wear or what you drive. Nothing makes my day more than seeing Mt. Hood or Mt. St. Helen’s snowy peaks on a crisp blue sky (yes, it does stop raining here sometimes!). I am so fortunate to live someplace I truly love. Not to mention having an amazing partner in crime to explore it with!
UPDATE 8.2012–Much has happened in the past few months. We are currently closing on a house and it feels good to know Portland is where we will call home for the foreseeable future. I also got my first tattoo, which makes me feel like a true Portlander now. I cannot thank Ren at Albatross Tattoo enough for the truly amazing piece of artwork he created. He is a true artist. Looking forward to more adventures in the City of Roses and sometimes still can’t believe how lucky I am to live here!
